African History

Tribes
A large number of tribes, social and ethnic groups live in Africa. Varying in size and complexity each group has different cultures and traditions. Unfortunately the imperial nations failed to take into account the tribes identities and traditions when they divided the continent into colonies and eventually nations.
After World War II many European African Colonies were freed however these new nations were not divided up according to tribes but according to arbitrary political and economic priorities. Much of the unrest in Africa is directly related to how the continent was divided.
