Culture
Chinese culture dates back to
thousands of years. They are credited with many inventions and
developments in literature, art, religion, government,
military tactics, architecture, philosophy and agriculture.
Religion Three principle
religions are part of Chinese history,
Confucianism Tao and Buddhism.
Though today
the Communist government officially discourages
most religious activity, these religions still
influence the way the people look at life.
Warfare
Chinese warring regions used large standing
professional armies and experienced generals
such as Sun Pin Ta'i Kung, and Sun Tzu (wrote
Art of War. Its
armies were well trained and used marshal arts
type hand to hand combat.

China has produced many great thinkers, leaders
and inventors.
Daily Life An ancient agricultural
society most of the people lived on farms and
had a very strong attachment to the land. Their
society dates back thousands of years and daily
life changed in many ways as dynasties came and
went, yet they did maintain a strong attachment
to the family and traditions.
Literature "Chinese literature extends
back thousands of years, from the earliest
recorded dynastic court
archives to the mature fictional
novel that arose during the Ming Dynasty to
entertain the masses of literate Chinese. The
introduction of widespread
woodblock printing during the
Tang Dynasty (618-907) and the invention of
movable type
printing by
Bi Sheng (990-1051) during the
Song Dynasty (960-1279) rapidly spread
written knowledge throughout China like never
before. In more modern times, the author
Lu Xun (1881-1936) would be considered the
founder of modern
baihua literature in China."
