A teacher who is attempting to teach without inspiring the pupil with a desire to learn is hammering on cold iron."

Private Schools

Education"Private schools, also known as independent schools, are not administered by local, state or national governments; thus, they retain the right to select their students and are funded in whole or in part by charging their students tuition, rather than relying on public (government) funding, students can get a scholarship into a private school which makes the cost cheaper depending on a talent the student may have e.g. sport scholarship, art scholarship, academic scholarship etc. In the United Kingdom and several other Commonwealth countries, the use of the term is generally restricted to primary and secondary educational levels; it is almost never used of universities and other tertiary institutions. Private education in North America covers the whole gamut of educational activity, ranging from pre-school to tertiary level institutions. Annual tuition fees at K-12 schools range from nothing at so called 'tuition-free' schools to more than $45,000 at several New England prep schools." Source: Wikipedia
"There are 33,740 private schools in the United States, serving 6 million PK-12 students. Private schools account for over 25 percent of the nation's schools and enroll about 11 percent of all students."
"Most private school students (81 percent) attend religiously-affiliated schools (
see table). And most private schools are small: 86 percent have fewer than 300 students (see table)." Source: Council of American Private Education
