Educational Systems
Educational laws policies and regulations have always bin part of government operations. Most of the time they regulate what is to be taught, how it is to be taught and how to finance them. Many actions wrongly reflected the opinions of those in power, the dominant religion and economic system, instead of what is best for the teachers, students, parents and society!!!.
Here is my opinion
1.Their actions must always be based on what is best for the society, staff, teachers, administators students and parents not for the special interest!.
2. Their actions must never reflect the dogmas, opinions and views of any religion.
3. Their actions need to encourage the students to think creatively and independently,
4. Their actions must prevent any system from establishing segregation in any forms.
5. Their actions must provide adequate money to run the schools especially in paying the staff.
6. Their actions must protect the students and staff from such acts as bullying, violence, and intimidation.
7. Their actions must encourage the help for those special needs students.
8. Their actions must provide ways to help people who are disabled.
9. Provide adequate funding to all levels of education from preschool through college
10. Their actions must provide comprehensive medical life, visual, mental and dental insurance.
11. Their actions must insure that teachers ability to teacher within their expertise and qualifications as long as it is not dogmatic, one sided or detrimental!
12. Their actions must never impose the imposition of one sided social political or religious ideology
13.Their actions must never prevent a union from protecting the staff!
Victor Hugo: "He who opens a school door, closes a prison."
Edward Everett: "Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army."
Kofi Annan: "Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family."
