unions that represent them. Teachers’ rights are
represented through collective
bargaining units
known as teachers’ unions. These unions generally
represent the needs of a collective group of
educators. They discuss matters including wages or
compensation, hours of work, and job functions."

As a Union Vice
President and Economic
Administrator in a school system and
as President of a Student Education
Association in college, I am well
aware of the vital needs of teachers
and students in every potential situation.
Teachers need someone or some
organization to protect and
represent them in all levels of
their career. Without a union some
administrators and politicians would
run roughshod over their working
conditions, careers,
salaries, class size, privacy,
insurance, retirement and their rights
in and out of the school. Experience
has shown me that many
administrators have their own
agendas and have reached what is
called the
Peter Principle (a level of
incompetence). Often
teachers are
subject to harassment, intimidation,
misinformation, disinformation and
out right lies, about
unions to prevent them from
organizing. I would recommend all
teachers, counselors, para pros,
couches and general education
personal to organize, join and
support their local teacher's union!
