With the rise of computers, the internet, social media, blogging, podcasting and the combining of national news and networks along with the demising of local newspapers, television and, radio stations, many people in cities and towns are not receiving the necessary information they truly need to make decisions and political recommendations to local governments, thus many areas that need attention are either being ignored or minimized. We must reestablish, encourage and build new ways to inform the local general public. Governments (including United States) need to reinstate the funding for public broadcasting thus reduce the influence of companies, organizations and individuals who want to manipulate the news.
David Kennedy "The evolution of these short stories, rather than actual journalism is really a scourge. And headlines for any articles with any significance are often misleading - and make a statement without having anything to back that up."
