the condition of lacking stable, safe, and adequatehousing.
The definition of homelessness differs from country
to country, with some countries yet to have any
definition in place. People can be categorized as
homeless if they:
are living on the streets (primary homelessness),
have no permanent house or place to live safely,
are
moving between temporary shelters, including houses
of friends, family, hotels, and emergency
accommodation (secondary homelessness).

Primary: Residence includes in parks,
streets and rough shelters
Secondary: Constantly moving from
shelters, temporary housing and peoples
couches
Tertiary: Living in unsafe unsanitary,
crowded locations due to lack of
houseing.
The existence of homelessness should not
exist in any society especially
ours, (which is one of the wealthiest).
Causes are numerous such as over
population, structural (lack of
affordable housing), high housing costs
and rentals, low rental vacancy, and of
course the prevalence of poverty.
Additionally causes are from domestic
violence, levels of high unemployment,
mental and health issues, that are not
being addressed by either businesses
individuals and governments.
We as individuals, businesses and
government officials must demand that
laws, policies and regulations be
established that prevent and eliminate
homelessness. Instead of spending money
on pet projects, that only benefit their
personal pockets, businesses, and
supporters, they work to treat these
individuals through education, training,
and housing. Government officials should
create enabling housing laws and health
programs such as
Universal Health Care. Many
individuals are not only men and women
but also children and in some cases
pets. Allowing homelessness to continue
is an anathema.
