"Vaccination
is a simple, safe, and effective way of protecting
you against harmful diseases, before you come into
contact with them. It uses your body’s natural
defenses to build resistance to specific infections
and makes your immune system stronger. Vaccines
train your immune system to create antibodies, just
as it does when it’s exposed to a disease. However,
because vaccines contain only killed or weakened
forms of germs like viruses or bacteria, they do not
cause the disease or put you at risk of its
complications"Source

We are in the midst of a vigorous debate as to the use
of vaccines in the admission into schools, the
prevention and cure of diseases. Vaccines have a long
history of preventing diseases and thus preventing the
death and long term illness and disability of
individuals. It is a world wide success story since it
has saved millions through out the Earth. It reduces the
risk of infectious disease for not only the individual
but their families and the society at large, since it
can and will create what is called a
herd immunity. More than 30 diseases along with
infections have been prevented world wide. The movement
to band or restrict vaccines is dangerous. Many will die
or be injured long term if this movement is succesful.
"Vaccines are the tugboats of
preventive
health".
