Ancient Greece
2800 BC-31BC
No one single
civilization has had greater an affect on the western world
than ancient Greece. Their history was one of constant
quarreling, bickering and fighting between the independent
city-states of the Balkan Peninsula and the islands of the
Aegean. The two principle city-states of Athens and Sparta led
ancient Greece to great heights in culture, law, government,
warfare and philosophy. Alexander the Great took their ways of
thought and culture to the known world and their influence can
be seen and felt today. Time
