Population estimates vary; most surveys, the majority of which treat "Jewish" as a religious group, range from 5.2 million to 6.4 million, The population of ethnically Jewish people in the United States is not certain. Nonetheless, the overall Jewish population of the United States either the largest or  second-largest in the world after Israel.
