Middle Eastern History

From ancient times the  Middle East has had a rich culture and history. The arts and science,  mathematics,  language,  religions laws, had their beginnings in ancient Phoenicia, Sumer, Persia, and Egypt, It is the birth place of three of the worlds great religions.  Today the Middle East is in great turmoil. It is a land of great wealth, violence and uncertainty. The people yearn for peace and prosperity but must deal with insurgencies, inequality and daily violence. To understand how to correct these problems we must understand their culture and history.
Early History
Since biblical times the Middle East has been a region of great achievements culture and turmoil. It is at the crossroads of the East and the West and thus has seen invaders come and go. It is the birthplace of three great religions, Jewish, Christian and Islam.

Religions
Ancient Mesopotamia had polytheistic religions that believed that the forces of nature (rain, wind, floods) were alive. Later religions such as the Hebrews, Christians and Muslims are monotheistic and have as their bases the Old Testament, New Testament and Koran.
